How to Slow the Progress of Glaucoma

Most people with Glaucoma do not realize there are ways to slow the progress of Glaucoma and even improve the condition of Glaucoma. Below are some of the more effective changes that can be made to help slow the progression of your Glaucoma.

Instructions

    1

Avoid eyestrain that is caused by reading or working at a computer for long periods. Try to take frequent breaks every so often to help give the eyes a break.

    2

Wear sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB rays, both of these types of light can create free radicals that worsen Glaucoma.

    3

Try mild aerobic exercise, which can actually help to reduce eye pressure. Try to do aerobics every day for around 30 to 45 minutes.

    4

Avoid any tobacco smoke, even secondhand smoke. Smoke will reduce blood flow to the retina and worsen Glaucoma. Also try to avoid smoky areas like bars and restaurants that allow smoking.

    5

Don't watch television in the dark, this can actually worsen Glaucoma.
