How to Treat Frequent Urination With Herb Teas

How to Treat Frequent Urination With Herb Teas

Frequent urination manifests as a symptom of a larger health issue. This symptom appears during pregnancy; as the result of a bladder, kidney, urinary tract or yeast infection; or as the body naturally ages. Some herbs can reduce the frequency with which you feel the urge to relieve yourself or the pain related to an infection. Teas, however, often increase the frequency of urination so use them as instructed and sparingly to avoid exacerbating your original problem. Marshmallow root helps cure urethritis (inflammation of uretha or difficulty urinating) and helps flush out kidney stones.

Instructions

    1

Prepare an herbal tea blend that includes marshmallow root. To make your own marshmallow root tea, place 25 g (approximately 1 oz.) of the root into a liter (33.8 oz.) of water. TeaBenefits.com recommends boiling the mixture and letting it simmer for seven to 10 minutes.

    2

Drink marshmallow tea throughout the day, up to about a quart (4 cups) for maximum benefit.

    3

Continue to drink the marshmallow tea for several days straight until you notice an improvement of your symptoms. Once you get your bladder back under control, you do not have to drink it everyday but more so when you notice symptoms returning. Supplement the benefits of marshmallow tea with drinking plenty of fluids and fruit juices, such as blueberry and cranberry, while drinking more water and other decaffeinated beverages.
