Castor Oil & Water Soaks Used for Burning Feet

Castor Oil & Water Soaks Used for Burning Feet

Whether your feet are burning because of a fungal infection or because you have been on your feet all day, a soak of castor oil and water can help relieve the burning and refresh your feet.

Castor Oil

You can apply castor oil, which is rich in vitamin E, topically to feet to help stop a sensation of burning. It is an ingredient in anti-fungal medication used for athlete's foot, according to "Extraordinary Uses for Ordinary Things."

Soak

Castor oil can be extremely messy to work with. Warming it in the microwave or on the stovetop, then adding it to a warm water bath to soak your feet can avoid much of the mess.

Considerations

Castor oil can cause intestinal upset, including severe diarrhea, if it is ingested in large quantities, so it is important to keep it out of the reach of children, according to "The Way of Ayurvedic Herbs."
