Natural Cures for Scalp Problems

If you have dandruff or scalp problems, it isn't always necessary to reach for the harsh dandruff shampoos or medicine. Try natural cures for scalp problems.

Lavender Oil

Pour some lavender oil into your hand and massage it onto your scalp. Repeat this process three times a week. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, lavender has been tested in human clinical trials to be effective against hair loss and irritation.

A Recipe to relieve your Scalp

In a jar of warm water, mix 1/2 tsp. Margosa oil, 1/2 tsp. Melaleuca or Teatree or oil, 15 drops each of Rosemary Essential Oil and Lavender Essential Oil. Put on the lid and shake the jar to mix the contents together. Massage the contents of the jar into your scalp. You can leave it on your scalp for up to 15 minutes. If you prefer, you can or shampoo out the mixture or let it sit.

Shake vigorously as the oils will try to separate from the water, so apply quickly.

Curd and Lemon

Mix juice from a lemon and curd until it's smooth. Apply it to the scalp and let it sit for up to 30 minutes. Use a mild shampoo to wash the mixture from your hair. The curd is effective in removing dirt while the lemon juice kills bacteria on the scalp.
