Castor oil is best known for its internal use to cure constipation. According to the website Electro Herbalism, however, castor oil also has antimicrobial properties. This means castor oil can be used externally because it has the ability to help various skin conditions such as ringworm, acne, and small cuts. One way to use castor oil on your skin is to make your own castor oil pack.
Instructions
- 1
Lay three strips of flannel in a bowl, and pour pure castor oil over them. Wait for the flannel to completely soak up the castor oil. Wring out the pieces of flannel.
2Lay the castor oil-soaked pieces of flannel directly on the area of skin you want to treat.
3Wrap plastic wrap around your skin to completely cover the pieces of flannel.
4Lay a hot water bottle on top of the plastic wrap.
5Wrap the entire area with a towel. This will keep the hot water bottle in place, and it will protect your clothing and bedding from becoming stained by the castor oil.
