How to Treat a Hangover Using Home Remedies

Hangovers can be rough, especially if you drink a lot. Beer, wine, and hard liquor are culprits that cause a hangover. Symptoms include dizziness, headache, nausea, dry mouth and fatigue. A hangover is caused by a combination of alcohol metabolism, dehydration, and Vitamin A, B, and C depletion. There are ways to avoid hangovers, as well as natural and easy ways to relieve the symptoms of a hangover. Your hangover will not be completely gone until all of the alcohol is out of your system, but there are things you can do to help make yourself feel better.

Instructions

    1

Drink a can of cola to help ease the nausea. Cola is the best thing because of the fizz or acid it contains. Acid from the soda will help relieve nausea, the liquid will help ease dehydration, and the caffeine and sugar will give you more energy and make you feel somewhat better. You can also drink a hot cup of coffee.

    2

Eat a piece of dry toast. As sick as you are feeling with a hangover, you still need to put something on your stomach to help ease it up a bit. Try eating a piece of dry toast. Butter or peanut butter can only make your stomach feel worse so eat the toast dry.

    3

Eat a banana to help replace the potassium that you lost when you were drinking. Bananas contain magnesium, which will ease a pounding headache. Additionally, bananas have natural antacid effect, which will help to ease nausea.

    4

Replace the Vitamin C that your body lost when you were drinking. Drink orange juice, tomato juice, or take a vitamin C tablet. It doesnt matter how you replace it, just do so as soon as possible and it will ease the symptoms a little.

    5

Take a hot and steamy bath. The hot water will make you sweat out toxins, which will rid your body of alcohol. You might feel dizzy at first, but you will feel less hungover after you sweat the toxins out.
