How to Detoxify a Body Naturally

Although the body can heal itself by removing harmful materials, a person can also help the process by detoxifying the body on a regular basis. We are all exposed to harmful toxins via the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat. Detoxification is a way for the body to clean itself from the inside out. This process can make a person healthier. There are many natural ways to detoxify the body on a regular basis. A detox program is not something to be undertaken a mere few times a year, but as a part of daily life. By making detoxification a part of your daily routine, you can greatly improve the way you body functions and how you feel.

Instructions

    1

Go on a fast. A fast is an excellent way to rest your digestive system. When fasting, you don't eat any food for a day or two. The energy usually reserved for the digestion and elimination of food is now used to heal the body. While month-long fasts are possible under the supervision of a doctor at a clinic, shorter periods of time are better for the vast majority of people. Drink water during a fast. With some fasts, fresh fruit juices are allowed.

    2

Eat organic foods. Many of the toxins and chemicals that enter the body come from the foods and beverages we consume. With so much artificial coloring, flavoring, synthetic ingredients and preservatives on the market, people ingest a lot of harmful materials. Organic fruits, vegetables and meats have far fewer chemicals.

    3

Lose weight. While obesity is considered a disease, it has many side effects, such as increasing the chances of getting other diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Toxins are stored in the fatty tissue of the body, so losing weight will reduce the fat and ultimately the toxins stored in the fat.

    4

Exercise regularly. Exercise is a great way to detoxify the body. As you sweat, harmful waste materials are released through the skin. Exercise also improves circulation of the blood, which brings oxygen to the organs. And exercise increases the circulation of the lymphatic system that removes waste from the tissues and organs.

    5

Take deep breaths. Deep breathing helps you to relax and to release stress. As a person inhales, the body takes in oxygen from the air, which is needed for all functions of the body. As the person exhales, carbon dioxide is released. Carbon dioxide is a harmful gas that is created in the body as a result of various functions.

    6

Take herbal supplements. There are three main organs that help remove waste and other harmful materials from the body: the colon, the liver and the kidneys. There are many herbal colon cleansers on the market that help eliminate all the fecal matter that is still in your body. Milk Thistle is a well-known liver cleanser. The lever is a filtration system that helps remove toxins from the body. Uva Ursi is an herb known to clean out the kidneys. The kidneys filter and clean blood. If these three organs are not working at top capacity, they have a harder time performing the important functions of cleaning the body and keeping it healthy.
