How to Treat Shingles Pain with Natural Remedies

A good way to treat Shingles Pain is with natural remedies. Natural remedies are often times just as effective, if not more, than prescriptions or over the counter medications that can be taken for Shingles Pain.

Instructions

    1

Apply a cream that contains capsaicin directly to the areas affected with Shingles pain. These creams should not be used until after the blisters have healed, and 2-3 days have gone by from the beginning of your Shingles outbreak.

    2

Take a low dosage of a natural antidepressant. Antidepressants work by helping to block the removal of a neurotransmitter called serotonin. This helps to relieve a good bit of the pain caused by Shingles.

    3

Apply an acetone based nail polish remover to the areas affected with Shingles pain, four times throughout the day, with a cotton ball. Leave it on for about 15 minutes then rinse off thoroughly with water gently. Nail polish remover helps to cool the burning sensation, and also helps to cleanse away dead skin cells and germs.
