Advantages of Air Ionizers

Although controversial in regards to how successfully they affect health, air ionizers are still used by many people in countries around the world. Air ionizers purport to clean the surrounding air by using a high voltage to generate negative ions, which then precipitate many of the harmful positively charged particles in rooms, such as allergens and bacteria.

Allergens

Air ionizers are designed to clear the air of allergens to promote easier breathing. Air ionizers work by releasing negative ions into the area, which will come in contact with floating positively charged allergens. The claim is that the bonding of the two will cause them to become too heavy to remain airborne, which will cause them to fall to the ground---making inhaling them less likely.

Mold, Dust, Bacteria, and Smoke

Much like how air ionizers remove pollen, these items remove an assortment of common household problems, including mold, dust, bacteria, and smoke, say manufacturers. By removing these materials, not only do an air ionizers promote healthy living, but these products are supposed to benefit those that are suffering from chronic diseases, such as asthma.

Dry Atmospheres

Air ionizers are considered more effective in dry atmospheres and are recommended for people desiring purer air in such a climate. Humidity above the level of 80 percent can impact the successful function of air ionizers.

Sleeping

Manufacturers claim air ionizers help people to sleep much better. One reason for this benefit is due to the help a successful ionizer provides the body---allowing it to sleep without the interference of pollen or dust. Air ionizers are also very quiet; therefore, they can operate without creating too much noise at night.
