How to Use Garlic to Cure a Yeast Infection

Are you looking for an alternative to standard yeast infection treatments? Vaginal yeast infection symptoms include itching, burning and discharge. Such infections are common when taking antibiotics. Garlic is nature's yeast-fighting antibiotic. You can control the dose of garlic by cutting small slits in the garlic clove or cutting it in half for the maximum dose of garlic. Start treatment at the first sign of a yeast infection, before symptoms get out of hand. You might also choose to use a garlic oil softgel. It is best to do this treatment at night, so that it does not disrupt your daily activities. You may taste garlic while doing this treatment.

Instructions

    1

Remove the papery thin layer of skin from the garlic. Leave only the inside clove. If you are using a garlic oil softgel, skip the garlic preparation.

    2

Sew a string through the garlic clove to make removal easy. Carefully, tie a knot to secure the string.

    3

Insert garlic into the vagina. Place it as close to the cervix as possible. It cannot get lost. If it burns, the dose was probably too much for your sensitive, irritated skin. Try another garlic clove with smaller cuts, or use a garlic oil softgel.

    4

After several hours, remove the garlic over a toilet. Take a shower to remove any lingering garlic odor.

    5

Repeat the treatment the following night, if needed.
