How to Make Boric Acid Suppositories

How to Make Boric Acid Suppositories

A well-known remedy for vaginal yeast infections is to use boric acid suppositories. Boric acid may be beneficial for yeast infections because it has antifungal and antiviral properties. There are various creams and prescribed oral medications used to treat this infection. However, many women may use boric acid suppositories as an alternative treatment.

Instructions

    1

Buy boric acid powder and gelatin capsules in a pharmacy or online (see the Resources). These capsules usually can hold 540 to 1090 milligrams of the powder.

    2

Pour some boric acid powder into a clean bowl.

    3

Wear plastic gloves or use clean hands to open one capsule into two halves. One of the halves will be larger. Since this capsule's use is as a vaginal suppository, keep everything as hygienic as possible.

    4

Take the larger halve of the capsule, and scoop up some powder from the bowl. Top the filled half of the capsule with the other half, and close it.

    5

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to fill as many suppositories as you need. You can also make boric acid suppositories using a capsule-filling machine, which you can buy online (see the Resources).
