Wheatgrass is touted as a health super food. Not only is it highly nutritious, but it can also be used to treat a number of health ailments. Before you start consuming wheatgrass it is important to know a few tips and tricks so you do not have a negative physical response to it. Knowing ahead of time how to drink wheatgrass properly will help you avoid some common mistakes people make when adding it to their diet.

    Make the juice. Take a small section of the wheatgrass. Cut the wheatgrass and put it into a compression-style juicer. There is no need to add another liquid or water. You can mix the wheatgrass juice with another liquid of your choosing once the juicing process is complete.

    Slowly drink the wheatgrass. Consume only one oz. of wheatgrass each day. This allows your body to build a tolerance. Drinking too much wheatgrass may act as a laxative or cause nausea.

    Do not eat. Always drink your wheatgrass juice on an empty stomach. Wait at least a half an hour before eating after drinking wheatgrass or you may become nauseous. The longer you drink wheatgrass the possibility of nausea is reduced.

    Mix your wheatgrass with another juice if you don't like its taste. Many people mix wheatgrass with apple or orange juice. Mix wheatgrass with mint to help ease any nausea you experience when drinking it.
