How to Take Borage Oil

Borage oil can be found in seeds of the borage, a plant with blue, star-shaped flowers. Borage oil has anti-inflammatory components that help control the aging process and regulate blood sugar levels. Borage oil is the main source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). This type of oil can be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis as well as eczema, skin inflammation and dryness.

Instructions

    For treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, take 1.4 to 2.8 grams of borage oil in capsule or softgel form daily.

    For treatment of eczema, take 360 mg of borage oil capsules with GLA daily.

    For treatment of seborrhea, apply a topical borage solution to the affected area daily for two weeks, then three times a week thereafter until the condition has cleared.

    To regulate cholesterol levels, take borage oil GLA. Take one or two tablets as a dietary supplement after meals.

    Take borage oil as a daily supplement, using the dosage suggested on the bottle of the particular brand of borage oil.
