Remedy for a Sour Stomach

Sour stomach, most commonly known as "Acid Indigestion," is a very common ailment. Experiencing sour stomach can be very uncomfortable, especially when certain foods are eaten. Sour stomach usually occurs when there is excess hydrochloric acid buildup, which enters the esophagus causing discomfort. There are many effective remedies that can be used in the home to bring relief to sour stomach sufferers.

Aloe Vera

    Aloe vera has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and has been used as a home remedy for many years. It is also an effective home remedy for sour stomach. Aloe vera juice can be found in health food stores or can be used fresh from the garden.

Lemon Juice

    Lemon juice can be added to a glass of water and drunk before eating meals. It helps to neutralize the acid in the stomach.

Papaya

    The enzymes that are found in papaya fruit can help to relieve sour stomach. Eat papaya daily to alleviate sour stomach.

Baking Soda

    Baking soda is another effective home remedy for sour stomach. Mix 1 tsp. of baking soda in a glass of water and drink immediately.

Ginger

    Ginger has been used for many years for medicinal purposes. Ginger, when made in the form of tea, can soothe the stomach and relieve sour stomach.
