Home Remedies That Remove Facial Hair

Home Remedies That Remove Facial Hair

While society and one's own sense of beauty may demand facial hair removal, it can be difficult to keep up with salon costs for regular maintenance. Not to worry. Many effective, affordable home methods exist for facial hair removal, many of which use simple, everyday ingredients.

Masks

Forget expensive facial masks for the cosmetics counter, salon or drug store. They're easy to make at home.

Mix 1 tbsp. of lemon juice with 4 tsp. of honey and apply in direction of hair. Let it sit 10-15 minutes and rinse. Twice a week treatments should do the trick for most people.

Mix lemon juice, sugar and water into a paste and apply in direction of hair. Wait 10 to 15 minutes and rinse. Again, twice a week should suffice for most people.

Exfoliation

Chickpea Flour Or Gram Flour Helps Exfoliate Hair Away

Mix equal parts chickpea flour, turmeric and water into a paste and apply to face. When it dries, scrub and rinse. The exfoliation will remove unwanted hair.

Another variant is mixing the chickpea flour and turmeric with yogurt or milk. Again, scrubbing in a circular motion with an exfoliating pad or with fingers will remove hair.

The Next Best Thing To Waxing

Several remedies work similarly to waxing. The idea of creating a sticky, almost adhesive paste and using a cloth strip to pull off hair comes in many forms. Here are a few.

Mix 1 egg white, 1/2 tbsp. of corn flour and 1 tbsp. of sugar. Apply the paste to facial hair and let the paste dry into a congealed texture. Peel off for hair removal.

Create a substance similar to wax by mixing 2 cups of sugar, 1/4 cup of water and 1/4 cup of lemon juice. In a saucepan, heat until bubbling and then allow to cool until safe to the touch. Prep skin with a light layer of cornstarch or flour, then apply the new congealed gel to skin in the direction of the hair. Press down with cloth strips and peel back in the direction opposite the hair.

Another variant of this method involves using honey instead of water and performing the same routine.
