How to Clean Toxins Out of the Body

If you frequently feel sluggish, remain ill for extended periods or just plain feel cruddy on a regular basis, it may be a result of too many toxins in your system. Since toxins are ubiquitous in our daily diets and even in the air we breathe, it can be difficult to avoid them. However, you can take some easy, natural steps to clean these toxins out of your body by adding a few small habits to your daily routine.

Instructions

    1

Eliminate voluntary intake of toxins. As you decrease your toxin intake, your toxin levels will decrease as well. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, refined sugar and saturated fats.

    2

Establish a stress-reducing routine for each day. Yoga and meditation are popular options. When you are stressed, your liver's ability to detoxify your body naturally is compromised. Reducing stress increases natural ability to "clean" your system.

    3

Drink several cups of hot water each day. This will help dissolve and eliminate any impurities in your digestive system and it can also make digestion easier. In addition, the water helps flush your system and keep you hydrated.

    4

Spice things up. Spices like fennel, coriander, turmeric and cumin added to any dish aid in digestion and detoxify skin in particular. Their use can result in younger, fresher-looking skin and may also stimulate metabolism.

    5

Get plenty of fiber. Fiber speeds the body's natural detoxification process. Organic fruits and vegetables -- especially beets, artichokes and broccoli -- and seaweed are excellent sources of fiber.

    6

Eat sweet, juicy fruits. Oranges and pomegranates are two good examples of sweet fruits that can stimulate digestion and detoxification. Also, adding this type of staple to your diet will result in healthier eating, which lowers toxin levels all on its own.
