How to Use Grapefruit Seed Extract As a Preventative

Grapefruit seed extract, also known as citrus seed extract, has a reputation in the alternative medicine field and beyond as having powerful antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. It comes in the form of pure extract, a supplement in a capsule or in creams and cosmetics. Both internally and externally, grapefruit seed extract has many beneficial preventative uses.

Use Internally to Fight Infection

    Grapefruit seed extract in pure or supplement form can be taken by mouth to treat candida (yeast infection), throat infections, diarrhea, e. coli, swine flu and as a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Dose or dilute according to directions on the label.

    Use externally in pure extract form, diluting with water 1-3 drops per tbsp., or in cream form to maintain skin texture, treat athlete's foot and prevent nail fungus and scalp problems.

    Use in liquid diluted form as an all-purpose cleaner, toothbrush disinfectant, fruit and vegetable wash or dish cleaner. Dilute 15-30 drops per 32 oz.
