How to Use Cupping Sets

How to Use Cupping Sets

Cupping is the practice of creating localized vacuums on your body using an overturned cup --- this process allows for healing in particular areas. If you are interested in performing cupping on a friend or loved one you will need to acquire a cupping set as well as know how to use it properly. Once you have performed a few cupping applications after familiarizing yourself with the procedure you can easily perform a full treatment with ease.

Instructions

    1

Clean the skin where you want to perform the cupping and shave off any hair in that area with a razor. Have your friend take a shower to get ready.

    2

Wash the cups using salt water and dry them with a clean cloth. Clean the entire cupping set so that all the cups are ready when you need them.

    3

Spread body cream onto the skin where you are going to place the cups. The cream will provide lubrication for the cups and prevent skin damage.

    4

Arrange the cups on the area you treated with cream, making sure the entire edge of each cup is touching the skin. Use smaller cups for smaller parts of the body to ensure the cups can rest properly on the body.

    5

Push the end of the pump hose onto the plug on the top of the first cup. Raise the handle of the pump to draw out and create suction within the cup.

    6

Pull the pump hose off the first cup to disconnect it. Be gentle when removing the hose so you don't pull the cup and upset the suction inside.

    7

Pump each of the cups in the same way and leave them in a state of suction for up to 15 minutes. If you want to remove the cups sooner, you can do so at that time.

    8

Pull the plug on the top of the first cup upward to release the suction. Hold the cup down with your hand so you don't accidentally yank the cup off forcefully.
