How to Relieve Tired Eyes With Self-Massage

How to Relieve Tired Eyes With Self-Massage

If you work on the computer for an extended period of time, or do other detailed work, you probably find that your eyes get tired before the day is done. Self-massage relieves tired eyes by increasing circulation to the eye area. Massaging your eyes also eliminates the headache that often comes with eye strain.

Instructions

    1

Rub your hands together to warm them, or warm your hands by holding them under warm running water.

    2

Close your eyes and keep them closed for the duration of the massage. Relax your facial muscles.

    3

Place the palms of your hands over your eyes to warm your eyes. Hold your hands there until they start to cool off.

    4

Warm your hands again, then use your finger tips to rub across your eye lids. Start at the inside corner and rub outward. Repeat this 20 to 30 times, then warm your hands again.

    5

Use the tips of your middle fingers to massage your eye sockets. Rub in a circular motion following the direction that the hair on your eyebrows grows. Repeat this 20 to 30 times as well.

    6

Take the tip of your thumb and place it on the bridge of your nose. Rub in a circular motion for a minute or two.
