Natural Home Remedy for a Flat Wart

Flat warts are unsightly and can appear anywhere on the body. Some of the unpleasant side effects of warts are itching, burning and oozing. Warts can also be painful and quite difficult to remove. Generally speaking, a medical doctor is the best choice when it comes to removing warts. If, however, you prefer the alternative route, there are several home remedies that can help in the removal of flat warts.

Options

Different remedies work on different people, so you may have to experiment a little until you find an effective remedy for your situation.

An effective herbal remedy for the removal of warts is gentian violet. Typically available in over-the-counter preparations, gentian violet is a potent virus destroyer. Use according to label instructions.

Garlic is a potent antiviral and can be helpful in removing warts. You can find ready-made garlic oil, apply it to your warts and cover with a bandage. Repeat daily until the wart dissolves. Make your own garlic oil by chopping up a peeled garlic bulb and covering with a teaspoon or two of olive oil. Place this in the refrigerator overnight and strain out the garlic the next day. Swab the oil onto the affected area, cover with a bandage and repeat daily until the wart disappears.

The fresh roots from dandelions can help to remove warts. Rub the sap from a fresh root on the wart twice a day until it goes away. Make sure you don't use dandelion that has been treated with pesticides. This remedy may take several months to work, so be patient.

Another useful remedy for eliminating warts is lemon peel. Before you go to bed, tape a piece of lemon peel to the wart. Repeat until the wart goes away. The white, fleshy part of the lemon peel contains oils with antiseptic properties. Continued application can help to soften and heal a wart.

If you continue to be bothered with flat warts, consult your physician. You may require more conventional treatment. Discontinue use of any natural remedy if your skin becomes irritated.
