Home Remedy for a Soft Tissue Wart

Soft tissue warts are caused by a viral skin infection, and these small bumps most commonly occur on the hands and feet. Standard medical treatment often includes removal by freezing or laser and may be painful and costly. If you are suffering with these unsightly bumps, try several home remedies before visiting your doctor.

Natural Treatments

One very popular home remedy uses medical taping and apple cider vinegar. Before you go to bed, coat the wart with petroleum jelly to protect the surrounding skin. Then use a cotton swab to apply a thin layer of apple cider vinegar to the wart and wrap the area with waterproof medical tape. Repeat this procedure every evening until the wart begins to fade. It normally takes about a month for the wart to disappear completely.

Also try taping a piece of banana peel to the affected area. Do this by cutting a piece of peel and using medical tape to attach it to the affected area. If you are using banana, it is recommended that you keep it on throughout the day.

You may also want to try applying a mixture of lemon juice and baking soda three times daily. Mix two parts baking soda and one part lemon juice to create a paste that can be applied as a thick layer to your skin.

Vitamin E is great for the skin when ingested orally or even topically. To use vitamin E as a topical application, break a capsule and place the inner contents on a bandage. Then place the bandage over the wart and leave on overnight.

Also consider taking oral vitamin A supplements every day until the wart begins to disappear.

Prevention

The wart virus tends to thrive in warm, moist environments, so if you are in a locker room or a swimming pool, keep your feet covered. Also try to change shoes often enough to keep the feet cool and dry. If you are using a public shower, always wear sandals in the shower and you may even want to spray the shower floor with Lysol before using it.

If you have warts, try to avoid touching it so as not to spread the virus. Stress and poor eating habits can often cause wart outbreaks to increase in severity. Eat properly and get enough rest so that you do not aggravate the condition.
