Ionic Cleanse Treatment

Ionic cleanse treatments are usually done through footbaths. They aim to detoxify, cleanse and balance your body, causing you to feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Years of stored toxins can be drawn out of the body through the feet, cleansing the body of impurities. The result of an ionic detoxification or cleansing treatment is to give you relief, increase your energy and improve your mental clarity.

How It Works

An ionic footbath is the most common way of performing an ionic cleanse for your body. The machine delivers a very small amount of low electrical current into the water in the bath. A pinch of chemical salt is also added to help increase the conductivity of the water. This electrical current creates both positive and negative ions in solution.

You need to put your feet in the ionic footbath for the interaction of ions in your body. This supports your body's ability to detoxify, rebalance and achieve a higher state of well-being. When you put your feet in the conductive water, your cells are energized by ions and are induced to release any toxins, oils or fats that have accumulated over time.

Who Shouldn't Use It

You should remember while you use an ionic cleansing machine that it is not a medical device. As an ionic cleansing treatment requires a small amount of electrical current to be passed through a solution, you should definitely not use an ionic footbath if you have a pacemaker in your body or other device that will be affected by a magnetic field.

Others who should not undertake an ionic cleanse include those who are susceptible to epileptic seizures, pregnant or lactating women and people who have undertaken a major organ transplant. Whatever your medical condition, you should always proceed using an ionic cleanse with a certain degree of personal responsibility. If you ever have any discomfort while using an ionic cleansing machine, stop immediately.

Number of Treatments

The number of treatments you should undertake depends on your own personal circumstances. Your individual health and well-being at the time that you do the ionic cleanse will determine how many treatments you need, and how frequently. However, as a general rule, you should not undertake an ionic cleanse more than once every two days, because this can unbalance your body.

Even if you want to undertake ongoing ionic cleansing for a while, you should always take a break after a certain number of treatments. For example, you could have one session a week for five to 10 weeks, but after this period, have a rest period of at least a month before repeating the treatment process.
