Cat's claw (20 mg three times daily) and devil's claw (200 mg three times daily) are potent anti-inflammatories. Willow bark, which contains similar compounds as aspirin, is a natural pain reliever. Take 500 mg no more than three times a day. Do not use this supplement if you are taking blood-thinning medication.

    The University of Maryland Medical Center states that acupuncture has been found to be very effective for relieving joint pain in several well-designed trials. Chiropractic care has also shown benefit. It can relieve pain as well as improve flexibility, range of motion and joint coordination, especially when combined with glucosamine/chondroitin supplementation and exercise.
